After 51 years of unforgettable moments and memories, Jurong Bird Park is inviting everyone to visit it’s current compound for the final time, to commemorate, share your wonderful childhood memories and moments to honor the heritage of the iconic site.
The beloved national icon will receive its last guests on the 3rd of January 2023, exactly 52 years since its opening in 1971. Jurong Bird Park has been a place that holds special memories for many generations of Singaporeans and tourists, especially for a boomer like me that grew up in the west of Singapore. It was a popular destination for school excursions, family outings and even first dates (well, in the 90s). The most memorable was definitely the shows and that panorail ride that moved like a snail along the skies of the park
Tha park has also played an important role in the conservation of many threatened bird species.
This can definitely be one of your options for large family outings from now till the end of the year, reliving your memories and sharing them with your kids. The park has lined up a series of activities to celebrate the park’s heritage and showing off its key milestones over the 51 year journey. The best part of it all is, they are reopening the Panorail (Monorail System) to the public!! Don’t miss this one, for those who have never taken it before it’s a monorail system that traversed the skies of the park so guests could have a birds eyeview and take immersive photos.

The staff has also carefully curated a recommended trail, download this and learn about their favourite spots and the park’s best kept secrets. From the perfect place to catch sunrays peeking through the luxuriant vegetation in the morning to the best vantage point to observe the waterfall. And topping it off with a staff-only secret menu item at the Hawk Cafe. According to them, it’s the only guide you’ll need for Jurong Bird Park.
Also launching in November 2022 is a nostalgic dining experience with traditional pushcarts selling local hawker fare and carnival activities to raise the festive spirit.
Just another reminder – be there before the 3rd of January 2023.
