1. Greendot
A hot favourite among vegetarians and health-conscious diners, Greendot has been serving meatless, fusion dishes since it opened in 2011. Its signature dishes include the Angelica Herbal Noodles and the Signature Mushroom Rendang Bowl ($8.90). Also popular are the customisable bento sets ($7.90), where you can pick your choice of rice – white rice, sesame rice, or brown rice – plus one main and two greens.

2. Real Food
Real Food is the go-to place for fresh and wholesome vegetarian and vegan dishes. It also offers a good range of gluten-free dishes and energising smoothies too. The All-Day Breakfast menu includes Sweet Pumpkin Pancakes ($11.80) or Scrambled Tofu with Broccoli ($9.80). This Indian Vegetarian Thali meal (from $9.90) at Madras New Woodlands Restaurant is so satisfying and filling, you might even need to skip dinner. A thali is a selection of dishes, usually served on a metal platter. Each is filled to the brim with a delicious variety of vegetables and curries. You never know what you’ll be served, as the chefs decide what vegetable dishes to prepare each day, depending on what they get from the market. This ensures freshness as well as adding an exciting element to this extravagant array. Regular dishes include dhal, a lentil-based vegetable stew, and Raita, a soup-like yoghurt dish filled with thick slices of cucumber.

Elemen defies categorisation as the dishes draw influences from Chinese, Japanese and Italian cuisines, among others. Although diners can order a la carte, the best way to sample dishes might be to opt for the five-course ($28.80) or eight-course meal ($33.80). The Sizzling Quinoa Brown Rice Bowl ($15.80) is outstanding. The nutty brown rice forms a crisp crust around the heated stone bowl wish mushroom, peppers, and greens, with the tanginess from its special sauce.

5. Sufood
All the way from Taiwan, Sufood is an Italian inspired vegetarian restaurant in Singapore. You can check out its four-course ($25.80), six-course ($31.80) and eight-course set meal ($36.80) to try a little bit of everything. Tuck into dishes such as Snowflake Strawberry salad and Smoked Mushroom Risotto.

6. Ling Zhi Vegetarian
Miss dim sum as a vegetarian? Dishes at Ling Zhi Vegetarian, part of the Tung Lok Group of restaurants, include everything from vegetable curry to an assortment of dim sum delights such as steam dumplings ($3.85) and pan-fried carrot cake ($3.85). 7. Afterglow by Anglow
Afterglow is one of the first vegan hotspots to appear in Singapore. Feast Afterglow Kimchi Rolls ($14) filled with almond “rice”, kimchi and avocado, and Raw Lasagne ($22) made with sheets of zucchini and walnut “meat”. The sides, too, are scrumptious, such as the Salted “Egg”less Sweet Potato Fries ($10). Located at Orchard Central’s rooftop garden, Joie offers an extensive range of fine vegetarian cuisine. Tantalising treats include Zucchini Tower and Lime Tofu Emulsion. Heartier dishes include Truffle Risotto and a duo of pumpkin and spinach ravioli. And you can’t forget the Legendary Mushroom “Steak”. 9. Whole Earth
Expect tasty, home-style Peranakan-Thai dishes from Whole Earth. This vegetarian restaurant featured on Singapore’s Michelin Bib Gourmand consecutively since 2016. Its most popular dishes are the Signature Olive Rice ($10.50), Crispy Golden Oats Tofu ($17.85), and Yam Treasure Ring ($29.40). Vegetarian Peranakan might be few and far in-between, but Whole Earth executes this task perfectly.

This burger joint from San Francisco has a range of 100 per cent plant-based, hearty burgers. The patties are made with soy or mushroom and topped with everything from crispy onion rings to grilled pineapple, and vegetables. This East-Coast cafe serves Peranakan and Asian dishes, as well as items such as burgers and pasta. Expect dishes such as Banana Leaf Nasi Campur ($12.90) and Three Cup Chicken Rice ($10.90) with meatless chicken. You don’t have to sacrifice your favourite local food at Loving Hut.

12. The Living Cafe
This wholesome cafe is one of the pioneers of the raw food movement in Singapore. There’s a delicious range of raw and vegetarian dishes, while hormone-free chicken and fish also feature on the menu. However, the cafe does not use red meat, cow dairy, and white sugar. You can get a filling Tempeh Buddha Bowl ($18) that has sweet potato, purple cabbage, avocado, kimchi and an almond miso dressing. Or keep it raw with the Pesto Zoodles ($16). Top off the meal with a range of raw cheesecakes and chocolates.

This fan-favourite Holland Village vegetarian restaurant offers Mediterranean and Italian cuisine – great for carb lovers everywhere! Craving for good fast food burgers? With nomVnom’s 20 different vegan burgers, you’re spoilt for choice. These patties are made of soy, vegetables, tempeh, jackfruit, or potatoes. Try out best sellers like Temptation Satay ($8.90) made of marinated tempeh patty and satay sauce, as well as the Lion’s Main Truffle ($9.90), a delectable mushroom patty with truffle mayo. Singapore’s first Japanese vegetarian restaurant is definitely worth visiting. This popular restaurant offers a sumptuous vegetarian meal that is not only prepared with the freshest organic ingredients but is incredibly delicious too. Be blown away by the Unagi maki ($10.50), or the Tori Karage ($11) – you won’t even realise it’s vegetarian!

Want the best fine-dining experience, but vegetarian? This alluring and intimate restaurant offers a vegetarian lunch menu ($110) and a vegetarian tasting menu (from $190). The kitchen is helmed by Chef Ryan Clift, who’s crazy about vegetables from Gunma, Japan. The lunch menu has flavourful dishes like the Nori Cracker with yuzu and mushrooms or the Nukazuke Carrot Tartare. Tippling Club is the best spot for fine-dining extravagance.

18. Annalakshmi
Eat wholesome, home-style Indian food whilst making a difference. Annalaskshmi isn’t any business venture, but one rooted in service with a eat what you want, and pay what you want concept. This Indian vegetarian restaurant is staffed entirely by volunteers and all donations go to charity. Dishes made are from classic recipes passed down from mothers and grandmothers, such as Dosai, Paneer Manchurian, Narmadha, and more!

19. Daehwa
You’d be surprised with the innovations of this vegetarian Korean restaurant. Daehwa, the sister restaurant of The Boneless Kitchen, offers plant-based Korean dishes (from $13) like the well-loved Army Stew, Bibimbap topped with fresh vegetables and tofu, Japchae with mushrooms and springy sweet potato noodles. Vegetarian Korean cuisine can be rare, so it’s worth paying a visit!
